Will Apple Launch a Low-Priced iPhone?

By July 18, 2011December 15th, 2014Digital Marketing

As summer creeps closer towards August, the annual iPhone rumors continue to pick up. The latest rumors out of Silicon Valley say that Apple will be releasing a prepaid/low cost iPhone in the Fall.

According to a source, the phone will sell for no more than $350 without contract required. Is it possible that this “Low-cost iPhone,” will actually be the iPhone 3GS? All indication seems to point in this direction. It’s anticipated that Apple will continue to sell the iPhone 4 through the Fall, with the iPhone 5 likely to be delayed until early winter. Yes, that’s right… Another delay for the new version of the iPhone. Any surprises? It seems to be the one thing that Apple does consistently.

The idea of a discounted iPhone is an interesting move for Apple, as the company attempts to once again take control of the smartphone market. What this move offers Apple is, in fact, a full range of devices in the lower, mid, and high-end price segments. Will this be enough to fight back against the array of smartphones available on the Android platform, and help Apple re-establish it’s market dominance? We’ll find out this Fall.
